Tours by Tucuman


Spectacle of Light and Sound

Duration: 55´
Shows: every day except Tuesday and days of rain.
Hours: 20:30 P.M.
Place: Historic House (a block from the Francia Hotel)

At the Historic House is represented the glorious independence festivity, we listen the shouts of the town, the reading of the minutes, the voices of Laprida, Paso, Godoy Cruz, we hear the oath of the representatives and even the sound of the feather when these sign the transcendental document that creates the new country.
This play will make us live intensely the emotion and the tense solemnity of those hours, the man perceives through the view and the ear - its fundamental senses -, the largest and permanent sensations of the world in which lives.
The sound is nature, verb, music, echo, resonance and vibration. The light vital force, chromatism, movement, a determined musical piece, floods us of joy and another saddens us, the blow of a door and the noise of some steps they speak us of the human presence.


City Tour
Duration : 2 hours.
Hours recommended : From 08:00 to 11.00 or from 17:00 to 20:00 hs.

City tour by San Miguel of Tucumán city (capital of the province), visiting San Francisco Church, Plaza Independencia, Cathedral, La Merced Church, Historic House, 9 de Julio Park, visit to Floral Clock Obispo José Colombres house (first trapiche for sugar elaboration), visit to Nasif Stéfano racetrack, Urquiza Square, San Martin Theater and Casino.

Large circuit
Duration: 4 hours.
Hours recommended: Individual 13:00 hs.

We will departure from San Miguel de Tucumán by route 9 to Dr. Celestino Gelsi Dike (former Cadillal Dike) traveling through amphitheater, usina and Loro River.
Continuing the trip to Raco Village and the Siambón, where we will find the Monastery of the Benedictine Monks famous for the delicious homemade candies, honey and their honey derived.
The trip continues towards San Javier hills, passing by the Biological Park and university residences, until reaching the summit at the Redeeming Christ (1.200 mts.) From here we will appreciated a beautiful view of the city, the plain toward the east and the Calchaquíes summit toward the west to continue to the picturesque Nougués Village, place of beautiful residences settled in natural mountain balconies.
Return to San Miguel de Tucumán trough Yerba Buena and residential zones.

Circuit Tafí of the Valley
Duration: 7 hours.
Hours: 08:00 A.M.

Depature from San Miguel of Tucumán by 38 provincial route, passing by the San José del Monte de los Indios de Lules Jesuitical ruins, here the Jesuitical architecture of the 17th century can be appreciated. We will continue the trip by Acheral, where we will join the route of Valles Calchaquíes.
After crossing the last sugarcane plantations, we will begin the ascent to the mountain by Sosa creek between leafy forest vegetation and the rivers that descend of the high summits. Passing by the Indio, La heladera y el Fin del Mundo, we will arrive to Tafi Valley, where the nature surprises with a strong change of landscapes, passing from an exuberant vegetation to height smooth pasturelands. We will visit Menhires Park, enigmatic stones of more than 2.000 years. Angostura Dike and the Tafí Village, where we will visit the Jesuita de la Banda Church, place where the production of the cheeses of the Valley was originated over 250 years ago and that continues vigente till our days in very craft form.


Excursion to the Ruins of Quilmes

Duration: 9 hours.
Hours: 08:00 a.m.

This trip is carried out for the same route that the excursion to Tafí del Valle, from there we will continue the trip through the Infiernillo (3.042 meters) to descend then to the Calchaquí Valley.
Passing for Ampimpa (Institute Astrophysicist) and Amaicha del Valle, this town in carnival days yields its annual worship to the mother earth at Pachamamas party. Crossing the valley we will arrive to the Faldeo of the saws of Quilmes to visit the ruins of the same name, considered one of the largest native cities of Argentina that witness more than one century of fights against the Spanish control.


Escaba Dike Excursion
Duration: 10 hours.
Hours: 08:00hs.

We will departure from San Miguel de Tucumán by route 38, travel trough Famaillá and Monteros, arrival to Independencia Town.
The travel continues through the greater importance agricultural zone of the Province and in contrast with the green sugarcane plantations.
Parallel to the route toward the west, the Aconquija accompanies us offering a beautiful view. Passing for Conception, Aguilares and Juan Baptista Alberdi we will continue for the provincial 308 route. We will begin the ascent by Narvaez saws, accompanied by the Marapa River and forest vegetation.
We will arrive at Batiruana, where we will visit the hydroelectric power station, from here we will continue by a wound road till the summit of the hill, where we will find Escaba reservoir that not a lot time ago was the highest dike type Ambursen of the world.

San Pedro of Colalao

Situated in Trancas department, 95 Kilometers away from San Miguel de Tucumán in northwest direction, is one of the last urban concentrations of Tucumán.
It was built between the rivers Vipos and Trancas, what confer a pleasant and benign climate in the summer. Today it is a town of holidaymakers, but thousands of years ago was the settlement of a culture that still today surprises for its complex disposition, Similar to the cultural patterns of Candelaria and Santa María cultures, but with defined touches of regional cut.

Proofs of it are the magnificent petrogliphs (painted stone) of Ovejería and the caves excavated in the sandy rock, in the contrafuerte del Moro de la Ciénaga. San Pedro of Colalao is the main producer of the nut and he carries out every year the Festival of the Nut, the festival of the humita and of the cheese.

Ruins of San José of Lules

San José of Lules Ruins, are a national historic monument, that testimonies the epoch pertaining to the Spanish conquest, their construction was the headquarters of the campaign of Jesus where Jesuits carried out their religious activities, other of educational labor mainly with the Indians of Lules.
The most significant work there was the creation of Tucumán sugar industry; at the same time smithy, sawmill carpentry and even native sculpture activities were carried out.
Finally, that Historic mission was suspended in 1767 when the Jesuits were expelled from the American continent.

Simoca

Departure by provincial route 157 to Simoca, situated 52 kilometers away from the Capital, This place has keep along the years, all the symbolism of the exchange and the color of its customs.
At Simoca Fair, all Saturdays of the year you might see Sulkies caravans, cars, tractors, trucks that orient their destiny to Simoca transporting people of different places, that come to buy, to sell, to entrust works or simply to stroll.
The importance of this Fair, is given by its strong folk cultural origin.
During the winter a cultural tourist encounter is carried out called Festival of the Fair of Simoca.
