City tour by Chilecito and surroundings

Introduction

Chilecito is a small city located in the west-centre of the Rioja Province . It posses an unusual combination formed by the nature magnetism with the latent agro industrial activity, a mix between the dryness of their valleys, waterfalls and the legendary cultural agro industrial manifestations that softly seduced the visitors in the middle of a subtle and defiant folklore environment.

Itinerary

This excursion has two fazes: by the morning since 09:00 to 13:00 and in the afternoon since 16:00 to 19:00.

We start our tour at Sarmiento square, since the central pyramid, Mayo replica, traveling trough the place were Foundation Minute of Chilecito is located, The Church and some public buildings. After our tour pass by the terminal, we will arrive at the Santa Rita Plazoleta, historic place from where the Sanmartiniana expedition depart in under Nicolás Dávila Coronal orders, to Copiapó destiny (Chile).

From there we will travel towards San Francisco Wind Mill, one of the most interesting museums of the area. From here, we will take La Plata street, one of the most antiques ways of the city to arrive at the cellar that has the mayor production of the zone, where we will taste excellent wines.

In our travel to the centre, we will observe the construction of the main building and at the end of the street we will ascent to the Portezuelo watching point, to appreciate panoramically the entire area.
Subsequently we will observe at continuation, "El Rincón", picturesque closed by the mountains neiborhood.

After travel towards the city south, we will discover one of the points of major tourism - historical and technological attractive of the country. "Cable Carril Complex", laying cable transport, second in length between the larger in the world. Magnificent construction of advance, realized at the end of XIX century that has a museum.

In the cementery rest illustrious people as Joaquín V. González, Mis Montañas writer, Gabino Coria Peñaloza, caminito tango composer. In the proximities we will find one of the missing links of Inca culture: "La Tambería del Inca", Diaguita important assent where the bases of their houses maid with walls rocks still remains.


Tour by Nº 2 Station of the Cable Carril and Guanchín (hasta 4 pax)

Duration of the excursion : 6 hrs.
We will depart towards the west by Santa Florentina. We will visit the Nº 2 station of the Cable Carril since where we will obtain a beautiful view of Chilecito city and the valley in general. Then we will continue our ascent till we reach the top edge of the mountain where the way cross different watching points for several landscapes and slopes. We will arrive to Guanchín, little town, where is possible make a 2 hours walk to arrive at the two rivers conjunction. We will return by the Guanchín slope.
