Among the major tourist attractions stand out Los Glaciares National Park, declared Natural World Heritage of the Humanity by UNESCO, this park contains one of the most spectacular scenic beauty of the world's glaciers. It covers 600,000 hectares and has a setting of lakes, forests and hills. In it lies the Perito Moreno Glacier, Upsala Glacier, and others.
From El Calafate to Perito Moreno there is a distance of 80 Km. by paved road (50 Km.) and entering in the last 30 in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. Leaving the City, to the right we see Lake Argentino with Round Bay. Here you can see a significant variety of birds, highlighting the black-necked swan, flamingo, duck steamed, coots, geese, etc. |
