Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest or the beer party takes place in Villa General Belgrano, Cordoba, Argentina from October 2 to October 12.

History

On the ´60 decade, starts the tradition of celebrate de National Beer Festivity, thanks to the first immigrants that arrive to Villa General Belgrano town. In those times an old car that inside used to transport a picturesque local orchestra, was the responsible to loose the excitement and joy in a centric square. The orchestras and the dance groups were presented by a presenter that nowadays is remembered and which name is the main scenery name of the festival, Matías Calvo Ortega.

The festivity grows and starts to convene a huge tourist quantity. Those tourists today visit Villa General Belgrano to experience something different, this year will be surprised more than ever with a totally renewed Oktoberfest.
Along October, in the heart of the town, in the Cervecero Park, is possible to find the characteristic spectacles of the festivity: center European music orchestras and other music genders, dance groups representing the most diverse collectivities, spread on stage all the passion an colors to get the audience applause.

Inside the Cervecero Park is possible to find stands offering the most varied German gastronomy and traditional European pastries to please all the lovers of the traditional German food.
The beer is the star of the OKTOBERFEST, the multiple artisans and industrial breweries present its products, it is a large variety of colors, brands and sizes of beers.
Along the party the visitors can be part of the different traditions that are part of the National Beer Festivity. The parade along the city center headed by the black monk, the snuff of the beer barrel, the plant of the Maikranz, the election of the National Beer Festivity queen and the town anniversary festivity are part of the celebration, one of the most important of the country.

How to get to Villa General Belgrano

By plane

From Buenos Aires city you can take the available flights to Cordoba city with an approximate duration of 50 flight minutes. Upon the Cordoba airport arrival you can take a remise directly to Villa General Belgrano the road trip takes approximately one hour and a half.
It is also possible to take the Leo small buses that makes the route Córdoba-Río Cuarto by La Villa or with Calamuchita Transport and Tus, (the last mentioned departs from Cordoba Bus Terminal). It is also possible to flight from and to Rosario and Mendoza.

By private planes and helicopters

Aeroclub Villa General Belgrano; Villa General Belgrano has an aeroclub for small planes; it is located few blocks away from downtown.

By bus from Buenos Aires city

From Buenos Aires city it is possible to take a Bus the trip takes approximately 11 hours and intermediate towns.
The buses arrived to Villa Belgrano city Bus Terminal few blocks away from downtown. The bus services are available daily in nocturnal schedules.
 
By Car

From Buenos Aires city the approximate distance is 750Km. The trip will start at National Route Nº 8 (Panamericana) towards Pilar city, to travel subsequently by : San Antonio de Areco, Pergamino, Venado Tuerto (half of the distance), La Carlota, Río Cuarto, taking the Provincial route No. 36 towards Alcira, Elena and Berrotarán.
Few kilometers away you will find an YPF Gas station, from there to the left you will find a fork to finally take the Provincial Route No. 5 that leads directly to Villa General Belgrano by the localities of Embalse Río Tercero, Villa Rumipal, Villa del Dique and Santa Rosa de Calamuchita.

Rate for audience in general

On Friday 2, Saturday 3, Sunday 4, the fee is approximately $20 per person per day.
Along weekdays the entrance will be free and on Friday 9, Saturday 10 and on Monday 12 the entrance fee will be $30 per person per day.

Rates for groups (15 persons)

1º Weekend: $15 per person per day.
2º Weekend: $20 per person per day.
