The Night of the Museums, Buenos Aires
The Night of the Museums takes place in Buenos Aires city and is considered a culture party for everybody. In the last edition more museums and cultural spaces display the potential of a city that build an open and inclusive identity in each corner.
The night of the museums takes place also in 130 cities around the world, in Buenos Aires it is possible to enjoy culture with a half million people, that goes from neighborhood to neighborhood the one hundred neighborhoods in one night.
After the huge participation in the last editions, the next November 14 will take place in Buenos Aires city the celebration of “The Night of the Museums 2009”. The date of this celebration this year is shared with Rio de Janeiro’s Museums night, fact that predicts a Latin-American celebration and recognition for the porteños artists.
Along the Museums night it takes place different activities like: dance, movies, performances, conferences, multimedia, concerts, shows, just to name some of the multiple activities and expressions planed for this event, which will transform this November Saturday night into an urban party.
The past year 120 museums, art spaces, public places and parks participate in Buenos Aires city – where movies and video art were projected - the novelty this year is that the offer of neighborhoods participation has been widened with: Villa Luro, Flores, Colegiales and Coghlan and porteños spaces like: Polo Circo, De los Túneles Santa Felicitas Museum and the Escondido Temple, Muñiz Hospital Museum, Hare Krishna Temple, Ana Frank Museum, Colectivo Museum and Regimiento de Granaderos a Caballo Museum, among others.
The organizers emphasize that after 5 years of permanency and taking into account the event transcendence, along Buenos Aires city different parts of the country will join the activity by don’t sleeping also to show their communities cultural richness. Among them we can mention: Maipú, Vicente López, San Fernando, San Isidro and Tigre, and Catamarca and San Luis Provinces.
