Buenos Aires Latin American Art Museum

The main objective of MALBA to educate the public and awake the interest in Latin American Art; and to contribute to the knowledge referred to the Latin American cultural productions by encouraging the acknowledge of the region artistic and cultural diversity; and share the responsibility of this national and international community effort, promoting the artistic exchange between national, regional and international institutions, supporting innovative programs centered in visual arts, and in Latin-American culture.

It is one of the most modern museums in Buenos Aires. House the Constantini collection with more than 200 pieces (paintings, sculptures, photography’s and objects) of XX century Latin American artists.

Malba is a cultural dynamic space where several temporary expositions are exhibit (in many occasions at the same time that other museums around the world and associations) and Latin American and Argentinean contemporary arte exhibits. Besides the museum has an important movie program and a film library that monthly grows trough the acquisition and rescue of essential films in movies history. The museum also has a literature area where writers meetings, courses, seminars, literary forums and book releases take place.

The education and Cultural action area includes children programs, guided visits and several activities that take place along with civil society organizations and aims to offer to all the community sectors the possibility of enjoy, study, and discover some of the principal artists and movements.

The museum has Works of  Frida Kahlo, Wifredo Lam, Roberto Matta, Diego Rivera, Joaquín Torres-García, Antonio Berni, Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Jorge de la Vega, Tarsila do Amaral, Pedro Figari, Lygia Clark, Helio Oiticica, Liliana Porter, Guillermo Kuitca and José Bedia Valdés.

In the museum you will find a movie theater, a coffee shop, a gifts shop and a bookstore.

How to get there

It is possible to get to Malba museum by bus in the lines: 10, 37, 38, 41, 59, 60, 67, 92, 93, 95, 102, 108, 110, 118, 124, 128, 130.

Schedules:

- From Thursdays to Mondays and holidays from 12:00 to 20:00.
- Wednesday till 21:00
- Tuesdays closed
- Entrance till 30 minutes before the closing hour.

Entrance Fee

Adults: $15.
Teachers and retired: $8
Students: $5.
Children younger than 5 years without charge
Wednesdays: General: $5. Teachers and retired: $3 Students without charge.
