falls of water in the world, considered by some as the eighth world wonder. With
a volume of water nine times superior to that of the Waterfalls of the Niágara
The climate is subtropical, with high humidity and temperatures. Although the

Iguazú, "The big water of the Guaranis" is characterized by its 275 jumps
disseminated in form of half moon that fall 70 meters. The limit with the waterfalls
goes by the Garganta del Diablo, narrow pass with walls of water of about 150
meters wide by 700 meters long, where they originate multiple rainbows.
The most important cascade is the Salto Union, for its landscape characteristics,
for its condition of natural limit between Argentina and Brazil and because when
breaking the torrent of an immense intermediate link, it originates a whirlpool
of foam and fog, well-known as the Devil's Throat, the most fascinating show
in the whole area.
From 1986 it is National Patrimony of the Humanity declared by the UNESCO.
Following the course of the river, the waterfalls are some 22 kilometers away from
their outlet in the river Paraná. In the superior part to the jumps the river
comes forming bends of variable width, also presenting several islands and
lengthened islands. Starting from the island San Agustín the river gets wider to
about 1.500 meters in its biggest part, forming a wide "U" that contains the great
flaw that causes an abrupt difference in the land and thus also the waterfalls.
