Bosques de Palermo
Bosques de Palermo has more than 80 hectares surface is one of the biggest green areas in Buenos Aires city. Bosques de Palermo was built in 1874 by requirement of the President Domingo F. Sarmiento. The original design was made by the architects Oldendorf, Mauduit and Wysocky; and the architect Jules Dormal (one of the architects of Colón Theater and Congreso).
The park has two artificial lakes with boats and water bikes. The woods have 12.000 trees, among tipas, eucalyptus, talas and ombúes.
Inside the park, at Holanda square, the visitors will find El Rosedal, a garden with more than 12.000 rose plants and a white bridge many activities takes place in this area for example the September 21 students day activities.
Bosques de Palermo is located between Casares and Libertador avenues, in Palermo neighborhood. It is surrounded by Infanta Isabel Street, Iraola Avenue, Pte. P. Montt Avenue.
Along the weekends the park became a pedestrian street and thousands of locals and tourists make strolls, run, roller-skate and practice other sports.

How to get to Bosques de Palermo
- From Constitución square take the bus 60 till Italia square afterwards walk few blocks.
- From Constitución square take subway line C. At 9 de Julio station, combine with subway line D towards Congreso de Tucumán. Go down at Italia square and walk a couple of blocks towards Bosques de Palermo
- Take buses 12 or 60 or 39 go down at the zoo, walk surrounding the zoo and once you reach Libertador Avenue the Bosques de Palermo are in the opposite side.
