VISAS AND MIGRATORY PROCEDURE:
Requirements:
Passport valid for six months.
· Nationals of Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay who, for journeys that do not go
beyond Argentina and these five countries, may use their national ID cards.
Countries that do not requiered Visa:
Required by all except the following:
(a) nationals of the countries shown in the chart above for stays of up to 90 days;
(b) nationals of Andorra, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia,
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong (SAR), Iceland,
Israel, Korea (Rep), Liechtenstein, Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic of), Mexico, Monaco,
New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines,
San Marino, Serbia & Montenegro, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey,
Uruguay, Vatican City and Venezuela for stays of up to 90 days;
(c) nationals of Grenada, Hong Kong (BNO), Jamaica and Malaysia for stays of up to 30 days;
(d) transit passengers holding confirmed onward or return tickets for travel provided continuing their
journey within six hours and not leaving the airport.
Note:
Visa exemptions mentioned above are for tourist purposes only. Business exemptions
apply to nationals of Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland,
France, Grenada, Guyana, Hong Kong (SAR), Hungary, Iceland, Japan, Korea (Rep), Latvia, Lithuania,
Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Singapore,
South Africa, Trinidad & Tobago, the UK and the USA.
Types of visa and cost:
Tourist: £16.50
Business: £27.50
· Passengers requiring visas for transit only should still apply for tourist visas.
· The cost of visas changes monthly with exchange rates.
Application requirements:
· Tourist: (a) Valid passport. (b) Application form. (c) One passport photo.
(d) Fee; payable by cheque or postal order. (e) Mediacl certificate stating that the applicant is
free of any symptoms of infectious diseases. (f) Return ticket. (g) Proof of sufficient funds
(eg bank statement); minimum US$50 per day of stay. (h) Affidavit signed at consular section by applicant,
declaring that applicant has not, in the last 30 days, been to any SARS countries or zones and that they
will not travel to them during the validity of the visa. (i) Proof of legal residence in country of residence.
· Business: (a)-(h) and, (i) Letter of introduction from employer. If visit does not respond to an invitation
from company in Argentina, letter must include a paragraph specifying this fact. If visit follows an
invitation received from company/person established or residing in Argentina, this application must
be submitted by the applicant at the Dirección Nacional de Migraciones (DNM) in Argentina.
· Student: (a)-(e) and, (f) Two additional passport photos. (g) Letter from Argentine
university confirming student admission and stating length of stay, legalised by the Ministry of Education.
(h) Medical certificate, Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate (if applicable) and Police Record Certificate,
with translations into English, all legalised by the FCO and "Apostille". (i) Signed declaration that the
applicant has no international criminal record.

Consulate, or Consular Section at Embassy (see Contact Addresses section).
Working days required:
Three days. applications can be processes in one working day for an additional £22 express service fee.
Applications sent by mail may incur additional processing time.
Validity:
Visas are generally valid for stays of up to 90 days. Extensions for a further 180 days are possible
for some nationals; contact the Consulate (or Consular section at Embassy) for details.
Temporary residence:
Applicants for temporary residence, working holidays and long-stay business visits to Argentina should
contact the Embassy or Consulate (see Contact Addresses section).
Note:
Argentine minors travelling to or from Argentina, if unaccompanied by their parents, must carry
their parents’ or other legal guardian’s authorisation to travel, which must be certified by an
Argentine Consul if issued abroad. Fines will be levied if passengers do not comply with immigration
requirements and passengers will be deported.
