Río Gallegos

Capital of the province founded in 1885, on the southern banks of the river that owes its name to the pilot Gallegos of Magallanes expedition.

A city of great commercial activity.

Excursions

Different excursions can be done from here:

- Guer Aike bridge, a fishing spot
- Punta Loyola, a port of deep waters
- Blue lagoon (laguna azul)
- El Condor oil deposits
- Cerro Redondo

Site Attractions

Rio Turbio Mining Village. It is the epicenter of the production of stone coal; nearby is Valdelen Winter Sports Center.

The Glaziers National Park. Where there are 47 glaziers among which is outstanding the Perito Moreno, that, in any period of time amazes with its constant fall downs of its frozen mass of 60 meters of height, that on falling it breaks up into icicles that later they slide down into the tempanos (icebergs) cannal. It is also interesting to visit the vast extensions of Patagonian Continental Ice.
