The name Resistencia was chosen in honor to the perseverance of the first residents who resisted the attacks of the Indians in the last century. It has a flat landscape with wide tree-lined streets and low constructions.
The Bridge General Belgrano connects the city of Corrientes to the Paraná River with more than 1.700 meters length. Only 3 kilometers away from the city, you can see the Toba neighborhood, an indigenous reservation of peculiar characteristics.
A characteristic of Resistencia is the outdoor museum. In the 60`s, Boglietti began a campaign in order to get sculptures, made all around the country, to be put on the sidewalks. Tourists can appreciate the most varied works of art, carried out by noted Argentinean artists, on the streets, squares and walks.

The National road No. 11 communicates Buenos Aires with Formosa city.

The General Belgrano train reunites Resistencia city with the rest of the province.

The Resistencia International Airport, it is located South-west from downtown, is one of the most important airports of Argentina, it is also th place where the international flights make emergency stops. However due the economical situation of the province, has few flights and passengers movement.

The tourism has no distinguished place in the local economy, However the cultural tourism has some relevance with the sculptures tours by the city, the event with major activity is the: International Sculpture Bienal, that each 2 years gathers the most important international artists to compete in the city.
The event traditionally organized in 25 de Mayo square, change its location nowadays takes place on the Costanero stroll area at Negro River shore.
