Iguazú, Argentina

It is located 314 kilometers from Posadas and 17 kilometers from the Iguazú Waterfalls.

The port has an intense movement along with Port Meira in Brazil. The International Airport Iguazú is only 17 kilometers away.

The climate is subtropical, humid and with high temperatures. It is advisable to visit the place from March to November.

Places of interest

Iguazú National Park, also denominated "paradise". It contains subtropical fauna, enormous trees, intricate ferns, delicate orchids and all kinds of exotic plants.

This park, created in 1934, has a surface of 55.000 hectares and it has medicinal species too. Its mission is to protect the waterfalls of the river Iguazú and the wild missionary biome. The National Park of Iguazú was declared Human Patrimony, by the UNESCO, in 1984.

In the animal Kingdom, the toucans of multicolored picks, the parrots of the mount, the agility of pumas and yaguaretés and the incredible profusion of birds, reptiles and monkeys contribute to the motion and harmony of the park. Today, more than 600.000 tourists enter to the National Park every year.

Tobuna. Here, the waterfall Alegria is placed, it contains two waterfalls: the waterfall Eduardo Holmberg (15 meters high) and the waterfall Queirel (18 meters high).

2 de Mayo. Here, the dams of El Saltito have a dike, an artificial lake and a camping site.

Aristóbulo del Valle. Here, the waterfall El Encantado (58 meters high) is placed. There is also a museum of old cars.

Campo Grande. Here, the waterfall Chávez is placed.. There are a spa and a dryer of tea and herb too.

Campo Viera. It is the host of the National Party of Tea.

Leandro N. Alem. It is the host of the Provincial Party of the Beer.

Panambi. The waterfall Paca and its precious vegetation are placed here.

San Javier The hill Cerro Monje, a religious place where the pilgrims go in Semana Santa (the holy week), is situated here. The Correderas del Cumandaí, on the River Uruguay, is a location where sport fishing can be carried out.

Santa María. These are the important vestiges of the Ruins of Santa María La Mayor.

Santa Ana. Here, it is possible to find the Jesuit Ruins and the Hill Santa Ana. It possesses a Municipal Spa.

Loreto. It is possible to find here the Jesuit Ruins and the first print built by the Jesuits.

Corpus. Here, the island Pindo-í, “place of trails”, is placed. They are 10 hectares of exuberant vegetation close to the Paraná River.

Jardín América. Here, it is possible to find the waterfall Tabay (10 meters high).

Capiovi. It has a waterfall of about 15 meters, and a natural pool. It is possible to camp there.

Garuhape. Here, the waterfall 3 de Mayo, the Gruta India and the Cave of the Yaguareté are placed.

Monte Carlo. It is the see of the Provincial Party of the Flower and the National Party of the Orchid. The Island Caraguatay is placed here; it is a natural labyrinth and a zoo with varieties of regional animals and unique species of the country as La Arpia.

Libertad. The hydroelectric dam Urugua-í is placed here. There are mines of precious stones and the Regional Museum Puerto Bemberg is situated here too.
