Iguazú, Argentina
It is located 314 kilometers from Posadas and 17 kilometers from the Iguazú Waterfalls.
The port has intense movement with Port Meira in Brazil and the International
Airport Iguazú is only 17 kilometers away.
The climate is subtropical, with high humidity and temperatures. Although the
whole year is in season, it is advisable to visit the place from March to November.
Places of interest to visit
Iguazú National Park, denominated "paradise" is characterized by its
wealth in flora and subtropical fauna among enormous trees and intricate ferns,
lighting the birth of delicate orchids and all kinds of exotic plants.
This park, created in 1934, has a surface of 55.000 hectares and is characterized
by a very rich flora in forest and medicinal species. Its mission is to protect
the waterfalls of the river Iguazú and the wild missionary biome. The National
Park of Iguazú was declared Patrimony of the Humanity by the UNESCO in 1984.
In the animal Kingdom, the toucans of multicolored picks, the parrots of the mount,
the agility of pumas and yaguaretés and the incredible profusion of birds, reptiles
and monkeys contribute to the motion and harmony. Today more than 600.000 tourists
enter to the National Park every year.
Tobuna Here is the waterfall Alegria that contains two waterfalls: the
waterfall Eduardo Holmberg 15 meters high and the waterfall Queirel 18 meters.
2 de Mayo There are the dams El Saltito that has a dike, an artificial
lake and a camping site.
Aristóbulo del Valle The waterfall El Encantado, with 58 meters of altitude.
It also has a museum of old cars.
Campo Grande There is the waterfall Chávez. There are a spa and a dryer
of tea and herb.
Campo Viera There are tea processing facilities. It is the host of the
National Party of Tea.
Leandro N. Alem It is the host of the Provincial Party of the Beer.
Panambi There is the waterfall Paca amid the vegetation.
San Javier There is the hill Cerro Monje, religious place where the
pilgrims go in Semana Santa (the holy week). There is also the Correderas del
Cumandaí, on the River Uruguay. Sport fishing can be carried out there.
Santa María Important vestiges of Santa María's Ruins La Mayor.
Santa Ana Here we can find the Jesuit Ruins and the Hill Santa Ana. It
possesses a Municipal Spa.
Loreto We can find the Jesuit Ruins and the first print built by the Jesuits.
Corpus Here is the island Pindo-í, place of trails. They are 10 hectares
of exuberant vegetation amid the Paraná.
Jardín América We can find the waterfall Tabay, of 10 meters altitude.
Capiovi It has a waterfall of about 15 meters, with a natural pool.
You can camp there.
Garuhape There is the waterfall 3 de Mayo, the Gruta India and the Cave
of the Yaguareté.
Monte Carlo It is the headquarters of the Provincial Party of the Flower
and of the National Party of the Orchid. There is the Island Caraguatay, a natural
labyrinth and a zoological one with varieties of animals of the area and a unique
species in the country: La Arpia.
Libertad there is the hydroelectric dam Urugua-í. There are mines of
precious stones and the Regional Museum Puerto Bemberg.
