· Subtropical area is characterized by an important diversity in its flora and fauna - Argentina ·

Pilcomayo River National Park

It is located in a subtropical area. It possesses an important flora and fauna diversity.

It counts with 47.000 hectares where tidelands, marshes and savannas covered the landscape. In this environment, two species of Yacaré or South American caimans live. Among the mammals, it is possible to find the biggest deer in South America: the deer of the swamps and also, the bear anthill.

It is interesting to visit

Bañado La Estrella constitutes a beautiful ecosystem next to the Great Pantanal of Brazil and the Tidelands of Iberá.

In consequence, it is considered one of the three most important ecological reservations of South America. Due to the floods of the Pilcomayo River, an ecological pocket, unique in the world, has been created.

A picturesque flora and a great colony of wild birds give life to a fascinating spectacle.
