Paso de la Patria Village, Argentina
Across from the small islands of the river Paraná in the outlet of the river
Paraguay, 38 kilometers from Corrientes, is Paso de la Patria, also called the
paradise of the Dorado and one of the most visited summer villages in the area.
Founded in 1.782, it was called Paso del Rey, because it was the forced route of
the real militias in the time of Spanish colony.
The place is beautiful for its ecotourism. The whole year is in season. It is
interesting to visit the fair property, the church Inmaculada Concepción de María
and Laguna Totora.
In August the National Party of the Dorado that gathers annually fishing lovers
from all over the world, to witness or to participate, takes place. The fish of
fresh water, as the Dorado, called Tiger of the Paraná. For the abundance and
size of the Dorado Paso de la Patria has been declared Provincial Reservation of
Fishing and International Sport Center.
Attractive tourist places
Isla Toledo - Isla Carayacito - Isla Carayá - Isla Itatí. These islands
are characterized by their sand banks, rocky shores and big beaches along the
whole coast. In these picturesque spas nautical sports are practiced, such as:
water-scooter riding, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and water skiing.
Los esteros del Ibera, complex ecosystem that embraces 700.000 hectares
of tidelands and lagoons. Natural sanctuary where wild animals live: turtles,
yacarés, monkeys, deer of the swamps among others.
This reservation has seven lagoons and 43 mirrors of water free from
contamination, coming from rain. Their surfaces are covered by Camalotes and Irupés.
