City of Paraná, Argentina
This city is located 29 kilometers from Santa Fé. This important city rests on the river of the same name. Paraná means Father of the Waters in Guaraní.
It is located on the river’s bank of the same name; 470Km away from Buenos Aires, federal capital of the country, and about 25Km from Santa Fe, neighbor city whose is connected with, thanks to the sub fluvial tunnel existence “Uranga-Sylvestre Begnis”.
The city presents an architecture that mixes buildings from the last century with modern residential neighborhoods. Along with beautiful landscapes and natural walks, this city has a rich historical, architectural and cultural patrimony.
Other attractions are the sand beaches, the spas and the tourist infrastructure for the practice of different sports and camping.
How to get to Parana City
Its strategic location makes it convergent center towards numerous routes inside the region, country and other countries.
The new bus station and its local airport communicate the city through numerous land and plane destinations. The railway development is incipient and is destined to freight transportation. The port doesn’t provide services and receives occasionally cruise ships and boats that are passing through. There are 18 buses lines regulated by the municipality.

Carnival in Parana, Entre Rios
The magic carnivals of Paraná are celebrated between about the middle of January and at the end of February. They are spectacles that rejoice the city, among the green gullies on the Paraná River, the largest one of heavy flow.

Pedro E. Martínez Fine Arts Museum
It was inaugurated, on August 30, 1926. It is located on Buenos Aires 355. It has 10 rooms for permanent exhibitions in summer season; cultural activities are taken place in its central yard.
Martiniano Leguizamón Historical Museum
It was founded in 1917. It is located on Buenos Aires and Laprida streets, in front of the Alvear square (San Miguel). It has collections and historical pieces, and an important library.
Antonio Serrano Provincial Museum of Natural and Anthropological Sciences
It is located close to San Miguel church. Its collection includes samples of flora and fauna of the region, also a lot of anthropological and archaeological remains.

Plaza 1 de Mayo
The 1 de Mayo square is the main church of Paraná city. It is located on the block among Urquiza, San Martin, Monte Caseros and 25 De Mayo Streets. On the surrounding area, there are numerous important buildings: the cathedral, the municipal palace, the post office building, the head office of Entre Rios´ bank, Jose Maria Torres teacher Trainer College, del Huerto school (head office of the Argentinean confederation) also commercial centers, restaurants and hotels.
Urquiza Park
Urquiza Park is the main park of the city, covers an area of 44 hectares to the northeast of the city, close to the river, bordered by the coastal avenue “Laurencena”, Boulevard, Moreno, Guemes and Los Vascos.
San Miguel Church
San Miguel church is located on the corner of Buenos Aires and Carlos Gardel, in the downtown of Parana, is one of the most popular and oldest churches in the city. Its name is in honor to the saint of Entre Ríos Province. It has eclectic style with neogothic influence.
Santa Elena (120Km away)
It is one of the best fishing centers placed on the bank of Paraná River, close to RN12. It is also interesting to see its historical buildings and the possibility to have ranches tourism, in picturesque old towns full of history, very visited by European, German, and Asian and Japan tourists.
It is a very attractive park with a lot of vegetation; it is possible to practice trekking and there is a bike path parallel to the coast of Parana River.
The walking is really interesting and can be done by your own initiative o accompanied with a specialized guide, it is correctly signed.
Punta Gorda
It is a place to visit is full of Argentinean history and considered historical place. In 1812, the triumvirate of Buenos Aires entrusted to Marcos Balcarce colonel that fortify the Parana River with batteries for successful controlling the advance of the real forces.
In 1819, it was the place where the unit troops of the directive and federals of Litoral. Then in 1821, the men of Francisco Ramirez were gathered for fighting against the army of Lopez, Lamadrid and Dorrego.
