GUALEGUAYCHU

Gualeguaychu is located to the southeast of Entre Ríos. It is close to Buenos Aires and Santa Fé. It is constantly visited by tourists because of its wonderful green landscapes.

Downtown exhibits historical areas and it presents cultural demonstrations.
The carnival is the tourist, social and cultural phenomenon of this region, since it provides a strong economy profit thanks to the thousands of people who participate in this event.

The most visited tourist places

- San José Cathedral

It is located on San Martin square. This is an architectonic jewel inaugurated in 1980.

Gualeguaychú Theater

It is located on Urquiza Street. It was declared Historical Heritage in 1997 and inside it; it is possible to attend to cultural presentations.

Archaeological Museum

It has two exhibition rooms that preserve Guaraní ceramic from the colonial period; it also contains lithic objects as arrow tips, harpoons tips, needles made with fish bones, sticks and stone knifes.

Andrade’s House

This colonial house maintains its primitive framework, typical of the epoch. Nowadays, it is destined to cultural and artistic activities. It is located on Andrade corner and Borques.

Agricultural Regional Museum

The museum is situated inside the Sociedad Rural de Gualeguaychú. Its more important characteristics are the unusual wood porticos. The visitor will be able to appreciate machineries and tools from the beginning of the XX century, all of them are related to the agricultural area. It is located on Route 14 and Urquiza (to the west).

Thermals of Gualeguaychú

It is located only 2,5 Km. away from Belgrano and 3000 meters from the main square of Gualeguaychú, on 42 route. Gualeguaychú Thermals is the perfect place to eliminate stress and renew energies. It has four swimming pools. It extends itself over 20 hectares. It counts with excellent services and it is very popular because of its benefit thermal springs.

Beaches

Gualeguaychú presents fine sand beaches appropriated for resting. The most recommended beaches are:

- Balneario Camping el Ñandubaysal
- Balneario Norte Municipal, it has a beach without slope.
- El Salto, it presents a rural structure; it also contains a wonderful waterfall.
- Puerta del Sol, it offers several attractions, restaurants and fresh places with clean sand and crystalline waters.
- Puerto Boca, it is adequate for people who love calm waters and want to sunbath and enjoy swimming. It is located 12 Km away from Gualeguaychú.
