The city is witness of Litoral history as well as Argentina history, is the land of Justo José de Urquiza, in the times when Concepción del Uruguay was the political and economic center of the country.
José de Urquiza was Entre Ríos governor and Argentina Confederation President, in the city are well preserved many treasures that can be visited starting at Francisco Ramírez square, the place where Urquiza declare himself against Rosas.

The distance between Buenos Aires and Concepción del Uruguay is 297 kilometers. You can get to Concepción del Uruguay traveling by car by National Route 9 till Escobar, Zarate bridge long arm and the National Routes 12 and 14.
You can also take a bus from Retiro bus station the travel takes approximately 4 hours.

- San José Palace
San José Palace is located 25 Kilometers to the city west towards Basavilbaso, splendid Urquiza residence. It was the first house in the country with current water system; in its desks birth the Argentina National Constitution, and the door of one of the 38 rooms still kept the leader hurt to dead blood stain.
- Justo José de Urquiza School
Located few meters away from the main square is the first school of the country founded on 1849, it is one of the eight national historic monuments of the city. In its classrooms many Argentina ex-presidents studied, one Paraguay ex-president and also Ricardo Lopez Jordan, Urquiza rival leader whom murdered Urquiza.
- Inmaculada Concepción Basilica
Located few steps away from the square is the Basilica a place where the rests of Urquiza lays and where also the tourist can admire the images and wooden images brought from Spain from Urquiza family.
