Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina.
Buenos Aires is considered one of the most important urban centers in South America. It has a population of approximately 14 million inhabitants.
Declared the Federal Capital of the Republic of Argentina, Buenos Aires is the financial and economic center and a main port of the country. The capital, denominated Autonomous City of the Government of Buenos Aires, is surrounded by Buenos Aires and by the de la Plata River; it is divided in 47 neighborhoods called "barrios porteños".
The City of Buenos Aires, also called Great Buenos Aires, is a cosmopolitan and modern urban center with a strong European style. Every day, thousands of inhabitants and tourists circulate in and out.
In front of its costs, bathed by the "River of the Silver", is situated the city of Montevideo (the capital of Uruguay), only 45 minutes away, by airplane, or two and a half hours by ship.
One of the peculiar characteristics of Buenos Aires is its varied and amusing night life: bars, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs and discos are open until dawn.
