Chubut Province, Argentina

Rawson is the capital of the province.

Distances: 18 kilometers from Trelew
54 kilometers from Dovalon
80 kilometers from Puerto Madryn

The Chubut province is located in the Patagonian region; it limits to the east with the Atlantic waters from the Argentinean Sea, and to the west with the Republic of Chile. The population and the economic activities are concentrated mainly on the coast fringe.

Chubut have a varied and unique geography of deserts, lakes, mountains and Andean forests which, next to the variety of historical-cultural and natural attractiveness, transforms the province into an important tourist center of the region.

Besides, it possesses a very rich paleontological patrimony, apart from beaches and oceanic coasts with a unique fauna.

Paleontological Patrimony

· Puerto Madryn (Port)
· Welsh Colonization
· Los Altares
· Cordilleranos Lagoons
· Patagonia Central

Another interesting characteristic of Chubut is the diversity of its population: Welsh in the valley 16 de Octubre, center-European in the low valleys of the Cuenca del Puelo, Spaniards, Italians and Mapuches, these last ones maintain their ancient organization.
