Chilecito Town, Argentina

Chilecito, a population located 198 kilometers from La Rioja, is considered the tourism capital of Rioja.

This population offers a particular charm because of the nice towns that surround it and thanks to its colonial constructions, especially, the chapel based on a rich engineering.

Places of interest

· The mountains of Famatina (6200 meters above the sea level) and of Velasco
· The Cablecarril Chili (4300 m.a.s.l.) and the gold, copper and silver mine La Mejicana
· Quebrada los Sauces, a traditional walk path in Rioja that goes through the fresh and green gulch of the river Los Sauces. An ideal place to carry out walks. It is also possible to climb hills, fish and practice nautical sports in the Reservoir Los Sauces or visit the picturesque village Sanagasta.
