Attractive Tourist Places

Natural Reservation Estricta Colonia Benítez, it is located at 15 kilometers from Resistencia. It has a surface of 10 hectares. It keeps natural samples of the eastern Chaco region.

Reservation Pampa del Indio Provincial Park, it possesses a surface of 37.500 hectares. It protects an abundant autochthonous fauna. The tacurú is a very typical animal of the region. The nests of termites goes up to 1,5 meters height.

Provincial Reservation Fuerte Esperanza, it is located 420 kilometers from Resistencia. This is a provincial reservation of 28.447 hectares.

Fuerte Pompeya, it possesses entangled forests and exceptional fauna. It is one of the most remarkable reservations of the country. This is an ideal place for a photographic safari.

Barranqueras, this is a port and industrial town located on the western riverbank of the Paraná River. It is located only 8 kilometers away from Resistencia.

Los Meteoritos de Campo Del Cielo, it is located 15 kilometers from the town of Gancedo, near the limit with Santiago del Estero. This big extension of land was besprinkled by fallen meteors about 6.000 years ago. When they made impact, the fragments of such celestial bodies formed thirty craters of considerable size. The biggest of them was baptized as El Chaco, it weighs 33,4 tons.

del Cerrito Island, this is a natural paradise located 48 kilometers from Resistencia. Here, it is possible to find great quantities of fish, so, it is an ideal place for fishing, specially, the dorados type. It possesses the necessary tourist infrastructure: hotels, sweet shop, bars, business, public telephones and camping sites. A place of interest is the museum of the island.
