Buenos Aires Province, Argentina

Distance from La Plata: 52km

Buenos Aires province is formed by Buenos Aires city, represents 40% of Argentina, its capital is La Plata. It is bordered on the north by Entre Rios Santa Fé and Córdova, on the east by Buenos Aires city and on the west La Pampa and Rio Negro.

It has different landscapes, hundred kilometers of beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, lagoons, rivers, plantations and historic places. The city life has important cultural, historic and commercial development.

It is plain; the weather is temperate with warm summers and cool winters. The east zones are humid mainly from October to March, the west zone is drier and the rainfall is between 400 and 500 mm a yearly.

One of the most visited places is Colon Theater, considered as one of the most important ones in the world. It is the venue of musical genre. There are presentations of typical music, tango, orchestra, groups, and soloists of the entire world.

Tourism

Adventure tourism

The diverse landscapes and the geography are appropriated for adventure tourism. It has hundred of beaches, vegetation and mountainous region.
It is possible to practice windsurfing, rowing, canoeing, jet sky and other aquatic sports. Sports like paragliding, parachuting in Lobos, trekking, climbing, rappelling, riding and mountain bike.

Lagoons: The province has several lagoons; the most important ones are Epecuén, Chascomús and Lobos lagoons.

Epecuén lagoon is 10.000 hectares, its waters contains a lot of salt. It has healing effects for rheumatism, anemia, diabetes, exhaustion, because it has sodium chloride, sulphate. The water tradition has medical and scientific support, all wonderful therapeutics properties benefit to million of sick people.

Chascoús lagoon in native tongue means salt waters lagoons, it is one of the best one for fishing in Buenos Aires, because there live variety of fish mainly silversides.

Lobos lagoon has the necessary infrastructure for camping, or staying in lodgings and bungalows. These ones offer services like football and volley grounds, restaurants, plays for children, tents and pigeonholes. It is the perfect place to fish silversides, leporinus, carps, etc.

Rural tourism

Buenos Aires city has rural attractions; more than 350 farms offer different services. The low season is from Holy Week towards the end of November.
In the city, there are about 150 lodgings; some of them are comfortable and other ones luxury. They offer different services and prices to choice; it is possible to appreciate the rural life and activities like agriculture and cattle farming.

Tourisn in the city

There are many architectural buildings, monuments, museums, craft fairs, spectacles, which show the singular customs of Buenos Aires province. The visitors can take walks appreciating the streets among the green nature, go to the movies, theatres, casinos, and so on.

Culture

Gastronomy: The gastronomy is varied; the most peculiar dishes are the roast lambs whose are widely known in the world; the pork and the lamb roast with wine is another specialty. The desserts has inmigratory influences, the milk jam give them the regional characteristic.

Crafts: The works with rural motifs stands out because they are in ribbons, muzzles, boots and all leather craftworks.
